Early Admission
Applicants who have completed their junior year of high school in the top 10% of the junior class and have scores in the 90th percentile or above on college-bound norms of the ACT, SAT, or NMSQT will be considered for early admission. Applicant must be 16 years of age or older at time of enrollment. Applicants must submit documents listed as requirements for Freshman Admission.
Dual Enrollment
Carson-Newman College welcomes applications from high school students who, during their senior year, wish to earn college credit while still enrolled in a secondary school. Typically, dual enrolled students will enroll for only one college class, although permission to take additional courses may be granted.
Admission Requirements:
• Cumulative GPA of 2.25 or higher
• ACT composite score of 19 or higher or SAT combined score of 900 or higher. ACT English and Reading score of 19 or higher or SAT Verbal score of 450 and higher. If the student wishes to take College Algebra, he/she must have an ACT Math score of 19 or higher or SAT Math score of 450 or higher.
*Dual enrolled students must have the permission of the high school to complete coursework at Carson-Newman College that fulfills graduation requirements for the high school diploma.
