Additional C-N Scholarships
Carson-Newman offers several additional scholarships available to new undergraduate, full-time, degree-seeking students. These scholarship may be in addition to other scholarships that you may be eligible to receive. Each scholarship has different requirements, criteria, and application processes. Below you will find a listing of the various scholarships available.

Awarded to academically qualified students with evidence of financial need that have participated in Baptist Student Union Summer Missions. Students are eligible for renewal of scholarship upon completion of at least two BSU Summer Missions. Transfer students may be eligible upon completion of one BSU Summer Mission. Awards are made in the spring by the Baptist Collegiate Ministries Director. |

Esther Robinson Fite Scholarship |
Eligible female students must plan to be enrolled in the following fall semester and currently have at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA. Applications are accepted late in Spring Semester. This is a one year, non-renewable scholarship. |

Esther Robinson Fite, born in July 1903, was married to Dr. Harley Fite, president of Carson-Newman College. She organized the Faculty Women's Club and was active in it for twenty years. Mrs. Fite died in June 1980 after an eight-year battle with cancer. Soon after her death a scholarship fund was established by her family at Carson-Newman. The family and members of the Faculty Women's Club continue to make gifts to this scholarship fund. Amount varies. |

Steven Rowlett Memorial Endowed Scholarship |

The Steven Rowlett Memorial Scholarship is designated for graduates of Lee High School in Jonesville, Virginia or Thomas Walker High School in Ewing, Virginia. Students that are transferring from Mountain State Empire Community College through our transfer agreement may be eligible provided that they have graduated from one of the above named high schools. |
Email: financialaid@cn.edu for consideration. Email must detail name of high school, year of graduation, and that you request consideration for the Steven Rowlett Memorial Endowed Scholarship. You must be accepted to attend C-N and submit official high school transcript prior to May 1. Scholarship award is $3000 and student’s total award may not exceed cost of tuition with all other awards taken into consideration. Awards are limited. All students that request consideration may not be awarded. |
*Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) to continue to receive awards. Scholarship programs and award amounts are subject to change. All Carson-Newman Awards are designed for students enrolled in full-time, day, first-degree seeking, undergraduate study. Necessary adjustments to financial aid will be made as of the census date each term to reflect moving off- campus and/or enrolling less than full-time. Applications received after May 1st will be awarded based on availability of funds. Complete FA Terms and Conditions are available on our website (FA Terms and Conditions). All Carson-Newman Awards must be applied toward tuition, fees, room and board charges. All other financial aid including federal, state, outside scholarships, and a variety of institutional grants will be credited to the student’s account first, with the academic awards and the First Choice Scholarships picking up the balance of the student’s institutional aid eligibility. No cash refunds will be made from institutional aid resources, and awards may be reduced to remain within applicable direct charges. Dependents eligible for Tuition Waiver/Exchange benefits will not qualify for Carson-Newman Scholarship and Grants per college policy.
