Campus Life

Let's be honest . . . you want more than just a diploma, right?  Yes, there are 24 usable hours everyday, but we highly doubt you will want to spend each one of them studying.  You want an experience.  You want to be challenged.

At Carson-Newman, you've got options.  The Division of Student Affairs at C-N offers numerous activities and programs to create an experience found no where else!  There are nearly 50 different Intramural activities going on year-round, one of the best programs in the South!  Carson-Newman was recently ranked #2 out of hundreds of Christian colleges for offering service and mission opportunities through our Campus Ministries programs.  Over 30 service opportunities are available for you to get involved in every semester.  Swinging a hammer (or a bat) not your thing?  Try your hand at frisbee golf, music, drama, or debate.  And for those in pursuit of a serious mental and physical challenge, no worries: Connect-Four is an official intramural event.  Your interests, whatever they may be, are one of our top priorities.  If we don't offer it, maybe we should.

Whether you're a city kid, or you long for wide-open spaces, we're fortunate to have the best of both worlds right in our backyard.  The Great Smoky Mountains provide beautiful views from atop C-N's Henderson Hill, and the city of Knoxville is within a 25 minute drive.  From acoustic cafe's, regionally known restaurants, hiking trails, lakes, moutain biking, intramurals events, concerts - it's up to you to figure out when you'll have time to do your homework.
