New Student Orientation Trips to Local Attractions
Knoxville Tour: This trip is a riding tour of interesting and historic places in downtown Knoxville with a stop at the World’s Fair Park to enjoy the Park, Knoxville Museum of Art and ride up for a view from the Sunsphere. The final stop is Turkey Creek for shopping and lunch.
Gatlinburg Tour: This trip is a walking tour of the attractions and shops of downtown Gatlinburg. There are many restaurants, stores, galleries, and specialty shops to visit. Other attractions (admission not included in tour) include Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum, Hollywood Star Cars Museum, the Space Needle, Mysterious Mansion, World of Illusion, Fort Fun and many more.
Dollywood (Pigeon Forge): “The Smoky Mountain Family Adventure” includes 30 live shows daily, over 40 rides and attractions, more than 30 unique shops and 20 restaurants. Park admission is included in this tour.
Hiking in the Smoky Mountains: This trip will be to Cosby campground in the Great Smokies. There are 2 short hikes from the campground: Sutton’s Overlook (3 miles round trip) and Henwallow Falls (2.5 miles round trip). The group will take one hike before lunch and the other after. A box lunch will be provided at the pavilion of the Cosby picnic area. This tour will provide a true Smoky Mountain experience!
Biking in Cades Cove: Students will enjoy beautiful Cades Cove with a bike ride around the famous 11 mile loop with a box lunch at the picnic area before beginning the ride.
White Water Rafting on the Ocoee River: Raft the middle section of the exciting Ocoee River and thrill to five miles of almost constant class 3 and 4 rapids! The upper section of the Ocoee was the site for competition during the 1996 Olympics. Box lunches will be provided to enjoy during the bus ride to the river.
