C-N All-East Band Prep Clinic

This is a FREE Event!
The clinic is open to all high school band students who are preparing for All-East Band auditions. This includes woodwinds, brass, and percussion players from both the 9-10 and 11-12 grade levels.

During the clinic, students will rotate through three specialized sessions, each led by Carson-Newman faculty.
These sessions include: Instrument-Specific Clinics:
Students will work directly with our C-N faculty on the 9-10 or 11-12 All-East audition music for their specific instrument. This session will focus on refining technique, tone, and musical interpretation to help students master their audition pieces.
Audition Preparation:
This session will cover essential audition strategies, including tips on managing nerves, presenting oneself confidently, and performing under pressure. Students will gain practical advice on how to make a positive impression during their auditions.
Sight-Reading Techniques:
Developing strong sight-reading skills is crucial for any successful audition. In this session, students will learn effective methods for improving their sight-reading abilities, allowing them to approach new music with confidence and accuracy.
What to Bring?
Instrument: Please bring your own instrument and any necessary accessories (reeds, mouthpieces,
etc.)
Music: Bring your 9-10 or 11-12 All-East audition music for your specific instrument.
Note-taking materials: Pen, pencil, and notebook for taking notes during sessions.
Water bottle: Stay hydrated throughout the morning.
*Free parking is available for all participants at the Tarr Music Center parking lot.*
