We're inviting talented high school musicians from Tennessee and the Southeast to participate in this spectacular event! The All-Star Band will join the C-N Marching Eagles for a halftime performance at the C-N vs. Wingate game, entertaining a huge crowd at Burke-Tarr Stadium. Don’t miss this chance to be part of an unforgettable experience!
This event is open to all high school marching band members, including woodwinds, brass, percussion, color guard, and majorettes. Music will be provided in advance so students can prepare. The mass band will rehearse on the morning of Saturday, September 21, and perform at the football game that kicks-off at 1:00 p.m.
Any high school band student passionate about marching and eager to experience a college football game environment is welcome. Participants must be in good standing with their high school band program.
The cost is $20 per participant, which covers:
- A commemorative C-N All-Star Marching Band T-shirt to wear for field performance
- Admission to the football game for the participant PLUS TWO GUESTS
- All instructional sessions for the day
- A pre-game meal
- Water in the stands
Deadline: Register by Wednesday, September 18th!

Tentative Schedule:
9:15 a.m. — Check-in at Tarr Music Center
9:45 a.m. — Move to the stadium
10:00 a.m. — All-Star Band Rehearsal (High School & C-N)
11:00 a.m. — Rehearsal concludes
11:15 a.m. — Lunch (provided)
12:30 p.m. — Seated in the stadium
12:45 p.m. — Watch the Marching Eagles pregame performance
1:00 p.m. — Kick-off
2:30 p.m. — Halftime performance
4:00 p.m. — Game concludes
4:30 p.m. — Dismissal at Tarr Music Center
Instrument and Equipment Requirements:
- Woodwinds & Brass: Students must bring their own instruments and accessories. C-N does not provide instrument loans.
- Percussion: Due to logistical constraints, a front ensemble section will not be accommodated. Percussionists are encouraged to participate on battery drums or cymbals and must bring their own instruments (drum & harness), sticks, and mallets.
- Color Guard: Participants will perform with flags. Please bring your own flag. Video links for practice will be provided
- Majorettes: Participants will perform with one baton. Please bring your own baton. Video links for practice will be provided.
What to Wear:

Wear comfortable clothing for the morning rehearsals (shorts, t-shirt, tennis shoes, etc.).
- For the game and halftime performance, students should wear black shorts or pants, dark/black shoes, and their C-N All-Star Marching Band T-shirt.
Packing Checklist:- Instrument/Equipment: C-N does not loan instruments or equipment.
- Instrument Accessories: Reeds, cork grease, valve oil, cleaning swabs, mouthpieces, ligatures, and percussion sticks/mallets.
- Music: Sheet music will be sent via email. Please print and bring your music, as it will not be available on site.
- Flip Folder & Lyre: These are necessary for holding music.
- Water: Bring enough water to stay hydrated throughout the day. A 1-quart to 1-gallon water cooler recommended.
- Poncho/Sunscreen: Bring a pocket poncho in case of rain. Sunscreen is essential.
- Other: Bring additional money for concessions, souvenirs, etc.
